The Social Economy Scotland Partnership ended on the 31st March 2008. On the 18th March the DP was awarded the ESF and EQUAL programme award for the DP that achieved most policy impact - a fitting end to a highly innovative and resourceful partnership.
This website still contains a wealth of resources for social economy organisations and social enterprises.
Social Economy Scotland was a Development and Mainstreaming Partnership supported through the second round of the European Equal Community Initiative.
Social Economy Scotland DP focused on influencing mainstream agencies in terms of the development of the sector. The ultimate aim of the DP was to achieve policy impact at local, national and European levels.
To support its work Social Economy Scotland secured £2.5 million from EQUAL Community Initiative funding for period Jul 05 - March 08
Strategic Aim & Objectives
Through partnership working and transnational cooperation, Social Economy Scotland will support the social economy to increase its role in the delivery of innovative, high quality services thereby enhancing it s contribution to community regeneration, sustainable economic development and labour market integration in Scotland.
Growing Organisations
Growing organisations to support small to medium sized social economy organisations with aspirations to reduce grant dependency, enhance sustainability, create new jobs and develop new products and services to better meet the needs of their communities of place and interest.
Developing People
To support the development of skills and professionalism in the sector, in order to develop the social economy’s role on labour market integration.
Promoting Culture Change
To encourage dialogue between public agencies and representatives of the social economy (at National, UK and European levels), which fosters mutual understanding and promotes good practice in partnership working.
